Osteria da Fiore

Osteria da Fiore

Restaurant Maurizio Martin Osteria da Fiore is a non-casist in appearance, and he does not belong to the restaurant network completely “trump card”, because it is on the street (sling), in a rather gloomy quarter of San Polo. But the place where there used to be some kind of wine warehouse has now changed a lot, and it is worth looking there. Indeed, nowhere else in Venice you will not be able to enjoy such excellent, real, traditional fish dishes – only in this small restaurant with a simple, but cute decoration that accepts no more than forty guests at the same time.

The chef Mara Martin prepares only fresh fish caught in the lagoon: royal work, stone perch, turbo, and, in addition, such gifts of the sea as squid, karakatitsa and various types of mollusks from this region. And even those who are quite skeptical of dried cod will discover the advantages of this old dish, tasting amazing puree from cod. Black Risotto is another special dish of the chef Mary Martin. It owes its dark color to the ink of the octopus. But even if you limit yourself only to a glass of wine and a light snack, then in Osteria da Fiore you will still be happy.
