Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are preparing for divorce

This year, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Initially, many did not believe in their union, because the age difference is a quarter of a century.

Despite this, the couple were together in sorrow and joy, survived Michael’s cancer and Catherine’s alcoholism, and also raised two children.

The news that the actors are preparing for divorce sounded even more sensational. As RadarOnline reports, citing people close to the couple, Catherine and Michael are “secretly breaking up” and “quietly dividing property.” Allegedly, they have already agreed on everything, the divorce is a matter of time.

Several reasons are given. In September, Douglas will turn 81, and for 55-year-old Zeta-Jones, her husband’s age has become a real problem. Those close to the couple say that the actress has put her career on the back burner because of caring for her husband.

In addition, Catherine and Michael decided to sell part of their real estate. In 2018, they put their Bermuda compound up for sale. Three years later, the actors considered getting rid of their New York penthouse, but then changed their minds. They also tried to sell their home in Majorca, as well as an estate in upstate New York.
