We need: 500 g. minced meat, 200 g. raw rice (2 bags or 0.5 cups),

1/2 carrots, 1 onion, 1 egg, vegetate (2 st. l.), pepper peas – 5 pcs.

Many call them differently: meatballs or how, and my mother called them simply “hedgehogs”, I remember this recipe from her. I met options where the rice is boiled in advance, but my mother used to mix raw minced meat and it turned out well, and it was not necessary to cook anything separately. But – this is more convenient, I will tell you how I did yesterday. I grind onions and carrots in a blender (or onion, and carrots on a fine grater). Mix the minced meat, raw rice, raw egg and carrots with onions. Do not salt. I put a pot of water on the fire. When the water boils, I form balls from the resulting mixture and throw them one by one to the pan, then add 2. l. Vegetes and throw pepper peas. Now everything should be cooked for 30-40 minutes. You need to navigate by the readiness of rice – take out one piece after 30 minutes, try. I usually cook 40 minutes. You can eat with anything, and separately, but it seems to me that it will be best with stewed vegetables. It turns out hedgehogs and broth at the same time. For some reason, I like them even more meatballs.

You can put them with a broth, like soup.

But you can without broth, like a meatball, and supplement the side dish.
