What is American food and what it is fraught with, probably, everyone knows at least from a television or a yellow newspaper, who once again published piquant pictures of some kind of flying off the coils and who turned up under the most “cannot” Britney Spears. No matter how sad it sounds, but Amaerrin Food works with people such miracles that David Blaine himself would envy!:) Under a special “distribution”, innocent and unusual food students participating in Work and Travel, and, returning to their homeland, can not even recognize some parents. Therefore, I decided to write a few lines in order to protect you from extra kilograms. I don’t know how boys, but the girls are a little worried about this =)

To begin with, the choice of “chewing” in America is already painfully different from the available in Ukraine. I mean its assortment. When we first went to the supermarket, we were a bit stunned! There is only one ice cream a million varieties, I’m already silent about megacaloric semi -finished products and a hefty confectionery department! “Lord, why did we come here?!”I shouted my poor girlfriend Liu, while I already scored with ice cream and pyerozhozhniki the whole space of our trolley. You know, they probably specially make them so big. Damn marketing!

About know! Do not come to me, a huge showcase with a thousand types of cakes! No need! But my congenital reflex of the sweet tooth powdered the remnants of a sober mind (it reminds me of Pavlov’s dog) and this paradise on Earth, an oasis among the sugar, the divine niche and still out of my lips, wanted to absorb me without even chewing me! But here, like a zipper among a clear sky, like a superm in broad daylight, Liu appeared! Tearing a motionless trolley from my hands, she dragged me away from the insidious showcase. Eh, a thousand devils! I love you, buddy.

Having quickly rushed around the department of various pastries, Liu chose the cheapest bread, then grabbed the least fat cheese and bacon from the multi-billion dollar meat and dairy showcase, took a bucket of low-calorie ice cream (so that I did not ache) and headed for the exit. She did all this, holding my hand and not going a step away from herself.

All night I dreamed of those cakes. All night, guys! Several times we have allowed them to ourselves, but only for a sooo weighty occasion. Well, nothing to say, their cakes are fabulously tasty! This is now one of my associations with America. And one more is ice cream! Here we ate it almost every day. Miscellaneous, with chocolate droplets, with a cookie, with pieces of sand dough, with fresh fruits and caramel plus a crispy waffle glass … aaaaaahhh, guys … I tell you, in Ukraine this is not!

But what a calorie is it, however, like all the food. In order not to get better, you need to eat the so -called live food: vegetables, fruits, fish. All this is best bought in the market, as the supermarket is more expensive. There are such bazaars in any town, you just need to find out where they are.

For example, we bought cabbage and made salads. In order not to die from those salads, every morning before work we ate oatmeal with lean milk or sandwiches from bread and bacon. When choosing bread, you need to be careful, since from a two -dollar loaf I could make a golf ball. Good bread costs about $ 7-8. The same situation with eggs, milk and sausage.

I really do not advise buying all kinds of semi -finished products. Our friends from Odessa loved to have dinner with “home” cutlets from the nearest supermarket. If someone did not eat such a cutlet, then in the morning it was possible to freely kill a cockroach =) It is better to weld some soup of a more or less high-quality chicken breast. Speaking of soups ..

I cooked my first borsch in the states in the States. Mom wrote a recipe in SMS and I went for the right products. I found even beets, although it was sold already cooked.

I prepared a brew I put on the table and boldly said: “Lyudmila, your borscht!”And he was really a real Ukrainian borsch!:)

When I worked at the hotel, I was allowed to eat 1-2 times a day, depending on the duration of my workday. And also could take something home) But Liu at her hotel ate only apples and drank gulls, since the staff did not feed there.

Even in spite of my first successful culinary experience, I did not cook all summer. They tried to stay on cabbage and buterics, as well as something low-calorie from the Juan kitchen (a chef from my hotel), but if I wanted to have a sneak at 2 a.m., no one could stop us!:) Be that as it may, we still brought a couple of kilo. Daily ice cream made itself felt 🙂

Guys, a huge request! Go around the tenth road all fast-food. I understand that this is hard, in the USA they are at every step, but still! This is an unreal evil! We went only to one of them only once and, after in the morning I accidentally crushed the remaining piece of evening free, and it sprinkled like sand from the clock, we did not go to them anymore!
