How to choose fresh flowers for your interior

When buying live plants, do not give in to momentary impulsiveness. Before bringing another flower into the house, you need to clearly understand what place it will take.

It is advisable to inquire in advance about the rules of care – the flower’s requirements for lighting and temperature and humidity conditions. Also consider the maximum size of the plant, because some species can reach several meters in height.

There are two ways of home gardening:

  • vertical;
  • horizontal.

In the first case, flower pots are placed on wall shelves and special vertical racks, slides, racks. Choosing this method of arrangement, you can place a large number of plants, including different types of vines, leaving the usable area of the room free. A phytowall looks very impressive – a specially created structure according to individual dimensions, occupying the entire or almost the entire area of the wall. However, it is important to consider that a phytowall looks quite bulky and is not suitable for tight spaces. Most often, this technique is implemented in offices or, for example, in a spacious hotel lobby.

Horizontal landscaping is much easier to implement than vertical. We are talking about the classic arrangement of flowerpots on surfaces: on the floor, windowsills, tables, shelves, cabinets. In this case, you will not need additional structures, and the plants themselves can be removed, swapped or added at any time. Among the disadvantages of this method of landscaping are visual clutter and a lack of free usable space. Remember to maintain balance, because with a careless approach, you can turn a living room into a winter garden.
