For flowering cacti, as a rule, it is only necessary to observe the following periods of their life: a period of rest (at a cool or cold temperature), a light period, a rest period in the dark. Fosphorus fertilizers should also be applied.
To achieve flowering of some types of cacti (such as mammilearia, notocactus, parody and rebate) is quite simple. They are capable of flowering at the age of 2-3 years. If these cacti are illuminated by the sun, at least 8 hours a day, as well as if they are watered from time to time, they will bloom.
However, making some other cacti is much more difficult to bloom. They require special care. For example, such a species as Wilcoxia Dogelger blooms only if it is vaccinated on another cactus, and Melokaktus Matanzanus can bloom only in the 4-5th year.
Some types of flowering need large containers, others need a large amount of sunlight (this applies to types such as Ekhinocereus Pentalofus, Bikolor Chtyokaktus).
We also note that some cacti bloom only at night. It’s funny, but you can simply not suspect that your “ward” blooms.
